How do I install and activate my virtual instrument?

After completing your purchase, you will be redirected to a download page where you can select your operating system and download the installer. The installation process is straightforward, but if you encounter any issues, you can refer to the installation instructions in the manual, which is also available on the download page. The first time you open the instrument in your DAW, you will be prompted to enter your license code, which can be found on the download page by clicking “View” in the bottom right corner.

Which DAWs are supported?

The instruments are compatible with most modern VST3 and AU hosts, including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, REAPER, Vienna Ensemble Pro and GarageBand.

Does this require Kontakt or Kontakt Player?

No. Dark Fairytale Instruments are self-contained VST3/AU instruments and do not require Kontakt Player or any other sampler.

Will I receive free updates?

Yes. All future major updates for the instrument are included free of charge.

Can I use the instruments commercially?

Yes. All sounds can be used royalty-free in commercial music productions.

Why do the instruments sound different from typical VSTs?

Dark Fairytale Instruments focuses on natural imperfections, intimate detail and organic character rather than polished studio perfection. The instruments are designed to preserve the emotional depth, analog magic, and fragile nuances of real acoustic instruments.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

All orders are shipped from Germany, so shipping times vary depending on your location:

• within Germany: 1-3 business days
• within the European Union: 3-10 business days
• outside of the European Union: 5-25 business days

How much is shipping to my country?

Shipping fees will be calculated at checkout. You can choose between tracked and untracked shipping.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We take utmost care in packing your order safely to ensure it arrives without issues. If, however, there is a problem, we're happy to send you a replacement upon receiving photos of the damaged product.

Why can't I order from my country?

Due to various implementations of the European Union's packaging law, we currently lack the necessary licenses to ship to certain countries. Unfortunately, this includes Poland, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, and Bulgaria. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hope to find a solution in the future.

Can Oskar sign items for me?

Certainly! The piano sheet music books and some of the CDs already come with a signature (inside, not on the cover). If you have a special request or would like the cover of the book/vinyl/CD signed, please drop us a message.
